I didn't find Mellow Motors as I knew them 40 years ago. I found a very professional and hard working, very busy business that was any thing but laid back. I live in the country where the air is clean and all the pigs have tails. I didn't find Mellow very mellow but more uptight and strictly business. As an engineer myself, I was interested in viewing their shop but was told that was strictly forbidden. I thought I might be shown some kindness seeing as how I worked across the freeway 40 years ago when there were gas station attendants both at Shell and at Chevron. I like their uptight attitude as long as it means I don't have to pop the hood myself and my Jetta will do 10,000 miles. When I rebuilt motors and pumps or ships I gave my personal guaranty of 10,000 hours of continuous operation and I would get 18,000 hours out of a 900mm piston before I changed out the rings and honed the liner. Personally I don't think this Jetta will do 10,000 miles without repair and if a proper road test had been done Mellow Motors would have noticed the vibration in 5th gear that wasn't there before I took it to them but I could be wrong, if the company says I don't have to worry about a thing for 10,000 miles I'll do just that and if that vibration in 5th gear causes an accident I don't worry about my own death, it's a part of living and last time I checked nobody gets out of this life alive except the one. I trust Mellow Motors and assume that the vibration is normal for the vehicle even though I didn't notice it before. I've spent my life around high, medium and low speed engines and there were times when I wondered whether to run toward the kill switch or run away before they blew up. What me worry about a little vibration? It's probably a harmonic which can be avoided by either increasing or decreasing rpm. I find it amazing that in just a few hours for a reasonable charge these people can give me 10,000 miles of worry free driving on a high speed engine on a car that mostly travels winding and mountainous 2 lane blacktop roads. I plan to go back after the next 10,000 miles even if I have to tow it in
